Ron, now how did I know I was going to hear from you on this one, the old good guy bad guy thing that has been going on since Billy the Kid and Pat Garrett. Listen Copper, that badge dont scare me none! LOL! You arent gonna do a Pat Garrett and sneak up on me in a dark room and shoot me in the back, are ya? I never said I was going to do anything illegal, I will just use the pressure tactic of 35 Kirby Vaccuum salesmen who all weigh around 280. Heck, I remember this little geeky guy sold my mom a Kirby when I was a kid, she had NO intentions of buying one. Where there is a will there is a way, any of you guys would do anything to protect your family, right? To me these cars are family and this one needs intensive care immediatly before it dies. I have taken up many worthy causes in my life and succeded, cosidering the rarity of this car it deserves the respect of being saved. Just another adventurous crusade, I just cant see how we can all stand back and let this car dwindle away to nothing. I will just label this owner an unlawful combatent, according to our government that means anything goes. You guys want me to rescue this car, or not? If nobody wants to support my effort, then what is the point? Let me know, not lectures, just yes or no answers.

Toner, you ever fight for your country? Terrorism is an act of killing and injuring inocent people who have nothing to do with the twisted unworthy cause they are fighting for. Considering I am about the most Patriotic person you will ever meet, and I have fought for your freedoms, I take offense to that remark. You are certainly entitled to your opinion, and even though I may not agree with your opinion, I would fight to the death your right to express it. The line is crossed however when your opinion includes personal attacks and namecalling on someone you dont even know. I have stated here you have rights I believe in, I will not call you any names to bring myself to your level, but labeling me a terrorist was way out of line considering the current state of affairs in the world. High pressure sales techniques take place all over the country, do you refer to your local car salesman as a terrorist for using high pressure techniques, I think not. I welcome your opinion but you might want to choose a better choice of words.

Boy, I don't know...I've called the salesman that sold my wife and I our first new car a LOT worse than that! No kiss, no lube, just a hard way to go. Kind of reminds me of that Mountain Dew commercial: "Tommy, we got hosed!" The bad thing is, we still OWN that mistake!

Live and learn I guess...

Rob, the car being a bad one wasnt the salesmens fault, you probebly bought a Monday car where half the plant was absent and the other half were hung over!

Sorry, should have clarified, I'm not talking about the green car. That car has pretty much become legendary in our circles, I guess.

This one is supposedly in original condition, been garaged a long time. Does this ring a bell to anyone? I'm trying to follow up on a lead my dad passed on to me.

Oh, the car isn't the problem, it was the salesman and the dealership that was the problem. I called one evening before closing after I found the car we REALLY wanted (black Malibu), the dealership said they had it, I told them I'd be there in the morning, but that it was 3 hours away (Branson). So, I call again at 7am before I leave, they still have it, I tell them I'll take it but I gotta drive it first, so we head out, get there and the car is sitting out front. Go in to take a drive, "Sorry, some guy already bought the car for his daughter". Nice. I get back in the car, but the wife is dragging behind, and the salesman lays his pitch on her. Make a long story short, we got a different Malibu, which was more expensive, had less options, and the car we traded in was sold before we signed the paperwork! I wanted a keyless entry installed, paid for it ahead of time, but they told me to come back. Went back, they said it was gonna cost me, finally get them to "remember" I pre-paid, but the best they will do is have a stereo place install an aftermarket unit...only took them 6 months to do that! Then, they have the BALLS to call up wanting me to fill out some surveys and such about how "great" it was working with them! I told them what I thought, and that was the last I heard from them.

Yet the Malibu remains!

Rob, I am quite sure you have some civil recourse in this matter, and the difference in that salesman and the way I will approach the owner of this Camaro is different in the respect that I will not lie to the guy, and whatever deal we make will be honored on both sides no matter how long it takes for me to pick up the car since I am sure it wont fit in my saddlebags! Man, Motown what has come over you today!!?? Last night on the Mustang site you were a great ploitician and today over here you are a bully! I wish I was that guy that had that Yenko because I to am 6' 2" 275 lbs and I would love some biker to try and strong arm me because all they would leave with would leave with would be a handfull of teeth and maybe a busted nose!!!!!

BTW Mo you still know that you are my guy right??

Mr R Clary sounds like you were dealing with a bad bunch. The car being sold when you got there is not that unfair though. Car dealers can not hold cars. What if when you got there and did not like the numbers and didn't buy it? Then that guy that they ended up selling the car to would have already been gone because they told him they were holding the car from someone else and as a result the dealer would have lost two sales instead of one. You would have left and the other guy probably would have bought down the street by then. Was this a new car? If it was why in the world would you drive three hours to by a new one. A late model Malibu is a dime a dozen and could be bought at any local Chevy dealer. As far as pricing goes all dealers pay the same for the new cars weather it be in California or Maine. Car sales are so competive that all you had to do is tell them that the dealer down the street was going to sell it to you for X amout of dollars and you want them to match it.
