I had one of my Yenko's at a car show two weekends ago, an older guy walks up and says his buddy has one in the woods beside his barn and that I should buy it. I told him lets go right now, I'll stop at the bank on the way. He said it's three hours away and to give him my number and he'll call me when he gets out there next. I've been waiting by the phone every day since.

someone did that to an acquaintance many, many years ago (way before cell phone and GPS), except he told them it was a real SD Trans Am at his sister-in-laws place, she had no phone service out there, yada yada yada
gave him directions to an abandoned old gold mine in Crown King, middle of the desert ... there was no gold (SD TA) and the wild goose chase took the better part of a complete day for him ... the guy said it was running, etc and she needed $1000 for medical bills ... when it sounds too good to be true ...

Sounds like a good way to get robbed or worse unless you've got a sidearm.

The level of skepticism on this site never ceases to amaze. Without following stories like these, half (at least) the cars members own on here would never have been discovered.

Ya, Another story (of a different Yenko): I took the chance to drive 24 hours to pick up a "supposed" Yenko with no paperwork and no vin. I dragged it home "hoping" that it was a real one, or else I would have wasted my $$. Well I found the vin on it, had it researched, and got docs saying that it is an authentic Yenko. Boy was I glad I took the chance on a hunch of some guy I didn't know... |
