...automatic euipped cars just don't have as much personality (my personal opinion).

Tom and Rob, if its time to sell, I'll take that slushbox Daytona Yellow car off you guys at a 50k discount.

Ahh, you wouldn't want our Camaro, it's only got 12.4 seconds worth of personality...

Rob - are you offering to take me for a ride or letting me take her for a spin!
The personality I'm talking about is that the car seems to be more responsive to the gas pedal as well as the driver when he has his a**hole pucker tighter than a clams a** when you miss a shift at high rpm...I guess you could do that in an automatic if you throw the shifter from 2nd to neutral on a manual shift.... The Dana prepared Nova we are finishing is a CX turbo. Ever seen another one?

Why not get one of each? Then you've got the right answer for any given situation...

Jeff, Good idea. I see you have a 4 speed, now all you need is an auto.

It's a documented Dana prepared 69 Nova SS 396/375. Called the Budget Racer by Dana. It's Olympic gold with black vinyl top and black bench seat. Numbers matching and original sheetmetal. Nothing like Southgate Calif. Car has Jardine headers Sun tach, SW gauges, glass hood and mags wheels with red lines, and Dana script letters. I have never seen another. It's almost in paint. Talked to Dick Goldstrand of Dana and original owner. Dana sold a few, but no others have been found. Just bought a digital camera. As soon as I figure it out I could post a lot of cool projects...BKH

That Dana sounds like a neat car! I have always been a 4-speed lover but I would think the Automatics which are a lot rarer would be worth just as much or even more in these "Super Cars"

That's another interesting thought, Billigen. Yenko ordered fewer autos, thus making them rarer. But, here's a funny quote concerning rare/desirable from a fellow Pure Stocker (guess who, Casey!):

"It's rare that I $hit my pants...but that doesn't mean it's desirable!"

I *personally* don't see a difference, as I'm more concerned with color, vinyl top, etc. But, part of that may be because our "intended use" (as mentioned above) is considerably different than that of the vast majority of Supercar owners. My Chevelle is a 4-speed, and it pains me to think of how big of a pain in the @ss it's gonna be to launch it consistently on 6" wide Polyglass! Might not be too bad in a test 'n' tune environment, but imagine if I'm in a tie breaker at Stanton with a '69 1/2 Road Runner in the other lane! Talk about pressure! Try an aluminum flywheel, air bags, 90/10 shocks in the front and 50/50s in the back, you will be surprised at the traction you will get.
