Default how would you like to stumble across this.?

Talk about cashing in, makes the SD Tempest found a while back seem like a Pinto.

That car looks to be in fantastic shape on the outside. By looking at the Bugatti poster/calendar on the shelf to the left and the plaque on the rafters above the car I would say that the good doctor was definitely a Bugatti fan.

Hard to imagine having a multimillion dollar Bugatti in "driver" condition!! I say take it out and run it hard, it's a blast!!

actually with the non synchro trans there's no catching rubber between gears

Hmm, second one in two years!

http://jalopnik.com/cars/retro/greatest-...oupe-260775.php

This one sold for $825K at auction in found condition; sellers were expecting $300 - $400K.

The latest car at the top of the thread is a 57S, the two tone car was a 57C. Both cars are Atalante models. The 57S is a factory supercharged car 1 of 17 built and is still not the top dog in Bugatti circles.

In the Bugatti world it's kinda like comparing the following:

57C = 307 Camaro
57S = L89 396 Camaro
57SC = ZL1 427 Camaro

There were only three SC cars built.

Thin air for sure, it will be interesting to see what the car brings in this economy.

Not to take this thread off topic, but just out of curiousity, where do you guys see cars like this going in say, 20-30 years. The reason I ask is because I am 31 years old and while I appreciate cars like this, I would never want to own one let alone pay like a million bucks for one. Take the kids that are like 20 years old now. Do you think they are going to care about a Deusenberg, Cord, or Bugatti? Muscle cars, maybe. Cars like the former, I don't know.

there is a saying I heard a used car dealer say one time...

"there is an a** for every seat"

I realize that many of the antique and classic cars sold are bought by persons that lived that era and are "reliving" the experience, but I doubt that's the case with the potential purchaser of this vehicle...the person would have to be pretty old to have purchased this car when new...

Like any other collectible such as art, antiques, etc., I'm sure there will be people forever that appreciate these cars also...They aint making any more of them!!!There will always be collectors that have funny money and if you have a collection of cars of this type and era, this is a must have!! Similar to a person who has a collection of the best "supercars" must include cars like a ZL-1 Camaro or a Hemi cuda... jmo

Just like the tri-five chevys. When i first started attending shows they were everywhere. Usually seperate classes just for those cars. Now at a typical show of 200 cars you might run across 3 or 4. Time keeps moving along and soon there will be garages opening with a restored 57 completed in 1987 that has been sitting for 30 years.
