Default California Trip

My wife and I are flying to La Verne CA. We will arrive on Wednesday, Oct. 7th and leave Sunday, Oct. 11th. Our daughter is playing in a volleyball tournament there for UW Whitewater.

My question is, what would be a fun thing to do there when we have some spare time? We are staying in Anaheim and driving to La Verne.

I see that Route 66 is nearby.

Any input would be great.

Kurt

You are leaving Saturday October 10th or Sunday October 11th?

If you are leaving on Sunday...you could either hit the Cars and Coffee cruise in Irvine (right down the 5 fwy from Anaheim) or the Donut Derelicts Cruise in Huntington Beach (and then cruise the beach). Huntington Beach is about 15 miles from downtown Anaheim...

If you want to go to either cruise...you better plan on getting up early...as they are both done by 9am!!

Kurt as always Bruce is right. The doughnut get together is mostly old Fords and other local cars mixed in. I live about a mile south of the location so I try to take it in every chance I can but you have to be there early like 5-6 am to get in all the cars. Part of the neat thing is that as cars leave new cars come in so you have to keep walking all the rows. The Cars and coffee show will have many imports including some of the local high end new cars. There are still neat muscle cars mixed in with the rest and if Dave L. brings one of his many cars it will be worth the drive. You can arrive by 7:00am to take in most of the cars. You are welcome to email me at [email protected] if you need more information.

Don not forget the Peterson museum in down town LA about 45 minutes west of La Verne then you can take in Holyweird just to the north.

Thanks for the tips. I will see what the schedule is for V-ball and try to get out there on Saturday.
