1:18 Scale, Ertyl, Diamond Collectible Series, Limited Edition, Die Cast, 1969 Chevrolet Camaro Z10 396/375 HP. 1 of only 2,500 made. Still in the original box. Minor damage to the hood.
Not entirely sure what happened to the hood. I am clearing out some of my collection and have had this model for a while now. I bought this out of town from a vendor and did not notice the damage to the hood until I got back home. It may have been shipped from Ertyl this way, I truly don't know. Was never handled or played with by children nor did I ever drop it. The rest of the car is in excellent shape. I removed it from the box just for the pictures... Price: $85.00 includes free shipping to any members in the US and Canada only... Thanks SYC..... Rich ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

I hate to tell you this but that's "Diecast Cancer" on the hood. Some diecast cars do this due to contaminated metal used when they are cast. They just continue to get worse and crumble away. This Camaro is one prone to this. The Ertl 1/18 Copo and ZL-1 Camaros all really seem to be affected. Most of the other Camaros from Ertl don't seem to be affected but it can take several years to show up. You can go here, do a search for "Diecast Cancer" you'll find lots of info and complaining. I know because I have a few.

------When I had the "Red Alert" models made very few were delivered bad. One was pretty comical as the roof was squished way over to one side. Since Jan and I saw so few damaged ones we got in the habit (bad) of just grabbing the next box and sending it out without checking. The squished car changed our methods a bit. The purchaser E-mailed us about it and we couldnt believe that he was giving us correct info, so we had him send it back. Sure enough, he was actually being kind!
