Default LS6 Pad Stamping

I am looking for a 454/450hp LS6 Manual block to put in a 1970 Chevelle. I ran across this block and was looking for opinions on the stampings. It is too easy to make a $500 block into a $5000 block with fake stampings.

Right off, the VIN is too early to be from a real LS6.
LS6 production started in December `69, and this VIN is more like October of `69.

It looks like the broaching ends and is smooth the rest of the pad. Looks nicely re-gangstamped to me, too nicely. I've seen restamps from a guy in L.A. who does very, very similar work. Just my $.02US.

For info, my LS-6 was one of the first few built and it had a mid December engine build date.

This block casting date is I-16-9.

I have not pressed them very hard for any history on it or if they will back it.

Anyone have a legit CRV block to sell? Or reasonably priced CRV (or possibly CRR) complete running motor?

A few days ago I posted an ad for a standard bore CRR. Check the ad and call me if you want pics. You would be welcome to post the pics on here for opinion of the experts.

I think there are more LS6 cars around now then were made in 1970...
