Guys and gals, I have a chance to buy a 427 block, for a very reasonable price. Has anyone here had this block. Are there any particular problems or anything i need to know about this casting. It says hi perf truck and pass. All the research i did tells me its a regular deck 427. Any help or comments would be helpful. Thanks

----Have the block tested for cracks. If they have ever frozen they sometimes crack down in the cam tunnel. Also,Has it already been bored over and if so, how much?,,Is it a 4-bolt main or only two???.....Bill S

----And I should say, have somebody "qualified" to check for cracks if you can. I know there may be some difficulty involved but I had a bad experience not long ago with an idiot who couldnt even see a crack that was HUGE right in front of him......Bill S
