Guys and Gals, I have a 427 thats .030 over so its a 433cid bbc. I have a set of oval port 049 heads that are at the machine shop right now. I am having trouble figuring out the right head gasket and bore of the gasket. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

If the block does not have the three holes in the deck surface just above the lower row of head bolts, it is a "series cooled" block and would take something like a Fel-Pro 8180PT2:
![]() If the block does have the three cooling holes above the lower row of head bolts, it is a "parallel cooled" block and would take something like a Fel-Pro 1037: ![]() Hope this helps. |
