69 Z spark plug shields
Why do they turn white?..is there a way to prevent it? Finally have a moment to fix a few things on the Z

as far as I understand - they are cad plated originally - maybe the heat gets to the cad and makes it more white.
BTW....nice car!

"White rust", which is what zinc/cad/galvanize is supposed to do when exposed to the elements. It's meant to be a sacrificial coating to protect the parent metal, but unfortunately it only lasts so long.
