'69 Camaro #s RS/SS 396/4-sp Convertible, In-Process Rebody

I give the seller a ton of credit for laying out the facts...this was a rebody in the making that fortunately never happened. Judging by the limited pics, someone with bodyworking talent could save the body. I know there are guys on this site who have brought much worse stuff back to life....

Good colors, and these cars aren't exactly falling off trees. I'm guestimating that there were somewhere on the order of 1500-2000 big block convertibles built in 69, based on total SS 396 production and the percentage of convertibles out of all cars produced. Yeah, I know, totally non scientific, but am I way out of line?


What is a car like this worth done? Already at $10K, and lots of metal work needing to be done. Good thing is that parts are readily available for these cars. Maybe more so than any musclecar in history.

Thank goodness it did not succumb to the rebody.
Curiously, a partial vin on the deck? Looks legit. Just thought by this time all were by the oil filter? Any thoughts?

The early cars for sure had the partial VIN on the deck, not sure when the oil filter location began.

Ended the auction early the last time around, with a high bid of $12,500.
