Default Goodyear buys Cooper Tire

Just heard Goodyear bought Cooper Tire, will be interesting to see what they do with it

Yes they kind of had to because Cooper was killing them especially in the rural markets.

Cooper also offered niche tires (like snow tires) in sizes that other manufacturers did not have, so GY now has a new catalog and manufacturing capability.

My guess however is that Cooper as a separate brand eventually goes away.

That's damn sad to read, I buy Cooper tires for many of my vehicles.

So I guess this may mean that we will be seeing less of a preponderance of "Cooper Cobra" white lettered tires.

There are many more thousands of T/A tires out there than the Cobras.

I couldn't agree more. But man, I wish they had put more effort into the look of the sidewall, lol. I've been especially fond of my Cooper whitewalls over the years and LOVED the 3/8" thin strip they made years ago. I ran those on my Park Avenues and LeSabres.
