Default Introducing myself

Hello everyone, I just wanted to introduce myself. I am a newbie to these cars in comparison to most of ya'll, and am really excited to be able to learn from all of ya'll. My father (mike2) and I share a common love for cars, and have several friends that are on this board and recommened it to us as a great source of info. Anyway, I am very new to all of this like I said, as I am only 20 years old. I have been fortunate enough to be around several people with beautiful car collections, which has instilled in me a supreme love and respect for muscle cars old and new. I look forward to meeting you all, and learning alot.
--Michael--

Call me slow on the up take, but I am completely lost.

Anyway, just alittle more background info on myself. A close family friend of my father and I's just bought a fathom green 1969 COPO Camaro. I don't have the number of it as I have not yet seen the car since I have been gone to college. Also in his collection is the # 64 02 ZL-1 Garnet Red. He has been very good to us and seems to enjoy seeing how excited I get when he lets me help work on the cars. Over the summer I had a shoulder operation to repair damage done from a high school football injury, and he put me to work helping hand the mechanic tools, and keeping the cars clean. He has really been a great friend, as well as a mentor to me. He put me to work for the sole reason that I needed the money being a poor college kid, and also becuase he loves to see how much I am in awe of his collection. These cars make me feel as though I am 10 years old again and playing Star Wars in the back yard. On several occasions he has let my father and I drive his 68 Z-28 on the weekends, which gave my father and I some memories that will not be soon forgoton.

I imagine that for most of you the very same reason that I love these cars is the very same reason why you do to. That is why I am so excited to be on this site with a group of people that not only love the cars, but know every thing there is to know about them. You, that were of the age to have lived during the age of real muscle cars are a lucky group, and there are times when I find myself saying that I was born many years too late.

A little more info about my father and I, we had been tipped off to this site by a neighbor of ours who also owns a few nice cars...super awesome, undiscribable, rare cars. I had also heard about it through several others, but it was our neighbor that really coerced us to get on and check it out because this site is so full of good info.

So now that I have written an edict...anyone still want to talk or have I just made all of you fall asleep with my little heart felt Muscle car story?

----Sounds like you live in a great neighborhood.Lots of great cars and car-nuts close by.That can really help feed your hunger for knowledge. You probably have some good cruises in the local area as well.Your age may seem like some what of a hinderance to you,but those of us who are age challenged will tell you that all these years arent what theyre cracked up to be sometimes! As most of us on here have learned, just have fun.Thats the most important thing............Bill S

UmÖFirst of all, Michael, this had nothing to do with you. Ed (55chevy) missed the ělî in ěwelcomeî, and then Rick (mr70) read it as two separate words

By the way, I am always glad to hear of young people into muscle cars (especially if they prefer "muscle" over ěriceî LOL!)
Itís nice to know we will have a future generation to take care of our cars.

Mr. Lillard, my neighbor wishes to remain anonmous as he thinks that it would be a detriment to his investment if everyone knew that he was training a protoge. Haha, no I am just kidding my neighbor is Jude Heddick. Man I hope that I spelled his last name right, and sorry if I didn't.

Anyway, I wanted to tell all of you that believe it or not, there are alot of guys and gals out there that are my age or younger that love these cars. Further more, I believe it was Car and Driver that did a survey asking highschool kids if they could have any car to drive what would it be. The results were fairly surprising, since you had around 12% saying that they would want an import or import type car, 10% wanting a truck, 2 % wanting the pontiac vibe, 20 % wanting to drive some type of luxery car, and a resounding 56 % wanting a 60's muscle car! If there is one thing that I want to pass on to all of you is that I can not stress enough is DRIVE YOUR CARS!!!!. I know that alot of you have cars that are very rare, but a vehicle does need to be driven on occasion, and what better thing to do than drive it around to neighborhood for all of the little kids to see. The one thing that I will never get tired of all of the thumbs up and the yells of excitement from all of the kids in my neighbor hood and my local cruise spots when I get to drive the 68' Z-28. The kids today are what will ensure the value of your investment will continue to rise.

Anyway, like I promised I will post pics as soon as I get them sized down. And once I begin to post pics.....it never stops.
