Fifth wheel trailers have male "pin" that slides into the slotted "cookie" that's mounted on the puller truck. The goose-neck trailer has a female "receiver" that slides over a trailer "ball" that's mounted to the puller truck. Cookie-hitch vs ball-hitch. Clear as mud, right?? And don't forget...always keep your cookie or ball well lubricated, so you don't squeak!

Chris, 5th wheel is what the "big rigs" have, gooseneck is what you see on trailers that arch "gooseneck" over the tail gate of pickups, attach in the bed of the truck.

Now really confused, huh.

In my neck of the woods, Goosenecks are usually pulled by "Doolies'.

Most guys prefer a one ton 'Dooley' with Diesel power for towing.
