Default PayPal.........

as we all know they were down for many days...well out of curiosity I went to e bay to the talk area on Mon to see what the scoop was as I needed to send a few bucks to a guy..anyway I went to the Paypal part and let me tell you I have read some real interesting stuff over the last few days.. about them freezing accounts.. refunding money to buyers without talking to sellers and just taking the money from peoples accounts at paypal or the accounts we have linked to them to pay with...etc.. and as fast as some of the posts with good links and people trying to get the word out about problems they are trying to resolve..they would be deleted by a mod...I am flat out scared to use my account after the stuff I read.. they are not insured..and are running around doing whatever they feel like doing and nobody seems to be able to do anything with them..there are a few class action suites against them right now and after this weekend I think many more will jump on the wagon..it appears the Feds have been trying to get in and now may have a leg to stand on because they left so many people with no access to there money for I think 4 days.

truly sad as it was a kick but idea and was handy to buy and be done with it kind of thing..it sucked to receive any decent dollar amount as they like there cut though. I suspect if the Feds get in..they will want to tax us more and people will just close up the accounts and move on to the next method of payment

Have you guys had any problems with them????

Yea my father in law completes about 50 to 60 auctions per week on ebay and will not deal with Pay Pal at all because of their policies.

I have been using Paypal for about 4 1/2 years and have never had a problem. When I first started using Paypal there were not any fees. For a seller, I think using Paypal gets you more bids. I would rather bid on an auction if I know I can pay through Paypal.

I've been using PayPal for a few years now as a buyer and haven't had any problems...knock on wood. The biggest benefit of it in my eyes is that fact that you can send a payment immediately after an auction ends and know the seller has received it. That way sellers have to be a little more on the ball with shipping your item out in a timely fashion. No more "Uh..I'm still waiting for your money order to arrive" stories. Not to mention saving a trip to the post office to buy a money order. Hope they get things straightened out. I don't have a checking account attached to my PayPal so things like that can't happen. A credit card charge can always be contested.

I will ONLY bid on an auction if it accepts PayPal, no matter how much I want the item. First thing I check.

i,ve read several complaints about paypal myself and all of them had to do with paypal holding the funds due a dispute with transactions between the buyer and seller.

the bank account that is linked to my paypal is a dead end. i opened an account and keep only the minimum balance in it to keep it open @ the bank. i can transfer funds in and out when i buy or sell something. more work but @ least someone cant get directly to my checking/savings from paypal, they would have to find my other numbers through the bank.

You can PayPal without actually giving them a bank account. Just use a credit card that offers you purchase and theft protection.
