Default period correct 59-62 w motor parts any ideas

considering starting a nostalgia rod project, ive got access to a 348 and 409 parts and there are of couple of rough car prospects. was considering a time frame of 59-62 when building up this rod. can i get some ides from those of you that were there on the hot parts and brands that would have been used in that time frame. i know a W engine is not unheard of in a rod but you dont see it that often. right now the plan is in its infancy but i want to know what parts to keep an eye on. thanks for any input.

Welp...Weiand and Edelbrock for intake manifolds come to mind. Headman and Hooker for exhaust. I remember lots of guys running Mallory magnetos. Good news is Mallory is now making a breakerless racing distributor that looks identical to the old magnetos but works on the same principal.

You may want to contact Floyd Garrett at www.musclecarmuseum.com He has some out-standing 'W' cars of the 409 flavor. He may have and/or help you track down some era correct after market parts.
