I know of no links but if you can be more specific, several of us can help you decode a wheel.

I checked the Colvin and it says they are 1969??? rims..I guess???..I am a dope when it comes to decoding rims..only since I have been around here did I understand how important it is to a nice car to have the right codes..what I found today is
4- 14X7 SS rims coded 3- 12 valve stem 15 AO 1- 5 " " 26 YA The book I have if I am reading it right says they are 14X7 JJ rims and the side note is the AO rims supercede's the YA rim....did I do it right...??? LOL. so the first number on the left is the month and the one on the right is the day....are the codes ever re-used where there would be confusion on the proper application/year Guy pulled them from a '71 so I assumed they were 70 rims and new I did not have book for a '70 Educate me on the subject please.... ![]() Thnx Bud. |

YA was the 1969-early built 70 application.
AO was the one that followed it in 1970. You are correct on the month/year decoding. Look for another code to the left of the Valve stem and month code that will narrow down the year. Looks like M4 with an 8,9,or 0 under it, Decodes as 1968,1969,or 1970. This helps determine for example,if it's a YA October 1968,or October 1969 rim. |

Your YA is May 26th,1969 for a 1969 model application.
Your AO is Dec. 15th,1969 for a 1970 model application. I use the Chevrolet Dealer Service Bulletins, and Service News for reference, among others. |

Hey Bud,
I believe there is a decode key for SS wheels in the Camaro book by John Hooper. I have it at home I can check it later for you. Or maybe someone else has it handy right now...
