Too much time, too much money to buy it, but you all know the story...... ![]() Now, up pops a reproduction CX ID tag. Just grab any THM400 and you are off to the COPO races....... ![]() I don't apologize for eBay, but it isn't their fault. They are a business and trying to do what we all do. Make lots of money. They could do a better job policing their ranks, but that is another story for another thread.... ![]() Steve

...thanks E=bay ![]() ALbert [/ QUOTE ] I disagree. Thieves, crooks, swindlers, and the like have been around for ages. They always find a way, a means, or a forum to try and scam people - whether it is via phone, mail, Ebay, in person, other websites, whatever. If you inadvertantly buy a bogus restamped Corvette part at the Chevy Vettefest, is the Vettefast the bad guys? Or the actual seller? Blame it on the scammers, not on some website like Ebay. They can't police everything that is listed and they don't have the knowledge anyway. There's just too much there. You said it.... buyer beware. It's always been that way, and always will. We all have to educate ourselves well enough to catch a scam before it catches us. Once Ebay goes away, thieves will find some other method. What did the Nigerians do before email? Now they try email to scam people, is it the fault of the inventor of email? (probably Al Gore invented email too..... maybe it's his fault? That's funny right there... I don't care who you are...) Anyway, my point of that rant is to suggest that the finger be pointed at the thieves responsible, not to shift the blame to someone else (Ebay). Allen

Fraud regarding certain GM muscle has been around forever. Technology has greatly enhanced the proliferation of this fraud. It's hard to make a case that big block Chevy's are not the best running muscle ever built. But Pontiac with PHS and Ford with the Marti reports and SAAC with the registry offer a lot more security at the current price level of these cars. My two cents.

I agree with Les, to some extent. Fraud has been around for a long time and EBAY is just the latest venue for scammers. However, EBAY does have a duty somewhat to police it's own site. Remember all those sites that hosted illegal file sharing? The Supreme Court ruled unanimously that those websites can't turn a blind eye to crime. EBAY monitors it's site for all kinds of illegal activity; child porn, Nazi memorabilia, endangered species, stolen goods, etc., so they have the means and the duty to watch out for obvious fraud.

Honestly in my opinion who really cares what whoever buys this plate does with it a pop a paper or a stamp doesn't make a car or make it more desirable to me I look at the car ,drive it ,look it over good and decide if I want it if I get paper work that's fine and if I don't that;s fine too I buy cars because I like em you cant drive a pop or squeal rubber with a piece of paper and you cant cruise down the road and turn heads with a owners manual
