Default A question...

My bro's Camaro is supposed to have the smog set up on it. Over the years, he's collected morst of the parts needed to put it back on. He's missing the biggest part, the smog pump. Since I know nothing about this I'd like to pose the question...do they make a reproduction 1967 big block Camaro smog pump? Are the reproduction pumps functional...or just the housing? Or, should he look for a real one? OPinions...comments are always welcome.

Thanks.

Andy,

I did an online search at D & R...they show nothing for a '67 big block. I have a feeling that they don't reproduce the 67 smog pump

I seem to remember Rick's 1st Gen used to have smog kits (repop) in their catalog but no longer. Come to think of it, they didn't have a listing for '67 BB, just '68-'69. Consider also that the '67 L35 Camaro had smog installed on the California cars, not the other 49-state cars. (Please correct me, I'm going on a weak memory here.) Probably a hefty price for a '67 Camaro L35/manual pump.

You can go to your local parts Chain store, check the application and sift through some boxes for a correct one.

It was easier just a few brief years ago to come up with some rare/dated pumps and even alternators with deep groove pulleys ect.
