Default 1971 455 HO, M22 Firebird Formula

Not mine but it is owned by the guy I bought my 72 T/A from. He is a good honest guy. Unfortunately it looks like he lost his job and is selling one of his cars: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Pontiac-F...1QQcmdZViewItem

Pretty neat: a full option Formula with the 455 HO and the M22 four speed and a/c.

I don't know about that...but a 70 Formula 400 that my brother owned (his first car) surprised MANY an 70 Z/28 in So Cal and elsewhere....

Where's the NJ Steve sucks smilie?!!! i'm just bustin' your hump, I for one appreciate it when someone posts up a lead to a nice car.

I popped wood until I read that it was a color change and a SR block. I had already shown the ad to my wife, and was read the text when I saw the block and color issues. I thought the BIN seems like a good deal.
Yours in Pontiacs, GA Jim

My thoughts exactly--seemed like an awesome car until the color change and block issue crept up.

I emailed the seller. The car was originally white. It's a real ram-air car with the open hood ducts and the original air cleaner -very rare. As for the SR block, it is so hard to find a 455-HO car with its original engine because people back then tended to try to rev those engines like a small block Chevy, of course cast iron connecting rods dont take kindly to that.

The seller knows his ponchos and said the underside on this one is as nice or better than my 72 T/A's. Gotta love the western cars. This one was from Oregon. Mine was from Cal and Washington State. This would be the perfect car for stock class racing: not as heavy as a T/A. You build up a nice engine you wouldn't have to worry about and have some real fun with that M-22.

Too bad about him losing his job, especially this time of the season - he sold his black 69 Judge as well. I hope he gets back on his feet soon.

Steve, I hate to be a circling vulture, but does he have any other good iron?
