70 L78 Camaro

Hello, I'm looking at a 70 Camaro with L78 on the cowl tag here locally. It was a race car for years then set out in a field. No motor, trans, rearend. You can see where an emblem or something was on the left side of the license plate but the holes are bondoed up now. It has speed shop stickers under the deck lid from New Jersey. Car has the large three piece spoiler and is 7C on the tag. Interior is 711 and paint is 14 14. Is there anyway of telling if this was a COPO or something other than just a SS L78 in its day?
