Default Digital cameras

My wife's birthday/Christmas is coming up, and she's wanting a new digital camera...what do I need to look at? She mentioned a Canon of some kind she saw somewhere, and my mom mentioned the camera that Eddie Martin's wife had in Las Vegas last week looked to be teeny tiny...other than that, I'm on my own! LOL!! I don't need anything fancy, just something to capture evidence of some ornery kids...

Any of the Canon Power Shot series are fantastic. I was in the same boat about 6 months ago and I bought a Canon G7 from B and H in NYC. Awesome piece. 10MP, endless shooting capabilities and varying shooting modes... almost an hour of video shooting with crisp color and sound. Doesn't matter which brand you get, buy the extended coverage warranty and a beefed up memory card/extra battery.

I use an Olympus - Stylus 600
Great camera not too big / small, more features then I can use, I carry it everywhere!
Get the biggest memory and battery in what ever you choose.

I just purchased a Fujifilm FinePix S5700 7 MP camera to replace my old and ailing Canon Powershot S400. While I'm still getting acclimated to the Fuji, I'm VERY happy with what I'm seeing so far, and even better, the camera is more than affordable.
