I have a couple of originals and left them because of the patina and wear from those power shifts

Jeff,

The 4oz repop I purchase was not from Bob, but another seller 3-4 years ago. Here's the bottom you requested side by side.

I had a bunch of these over the years
I normally sell them with original pealing chrome so the buyer knows they are original

from what I can tell the original was a casting
the alu repop looks to be machined from solid aluminum
so the originals have a more porous look vs more smooth surface of the aluminum repop.
alu and steel repops have better looking chrome surface then an original

Most originals I see had pealing original chrome.
I have one original that does not have pealing chrome but the chrome wore thin and shows the
porosity and surface imperfections

The originals are non-magnetic with the exception of the thread portion.

Can you tell the difference driving with an original vs repro ? Does that mean an after market one will shift easier since it's heavier ?
