Yeah I've never seen a factory POP like that but if it's a replacement then that would explain why it looks so odd.
I'm confident about the build sheet being real. If the VIN on the BS matches you're car then you should be good. Not sure how well you know 70 Z28's, make sure all the little telltale signs for being a real Z28 are present.

I agree with Scott. Everything looks legitimate. Build sheet looks authentic. POP. Appears to be a replacement as discussed already. Look the car over real well for any questionable features.

I was a little worried about Dean's car, it's been for sale for years. It started off at 40,000, looks like it had multiple paint touch up's along with the engine modifications. I was also concerned about the missing build sheet information, most of the paper work looks correct though. All and all looks like a nice Z! Hope everything works for you if you make the deal

Default Other options

Sometimes it helps to try to disprove things that are more evident.
POP: VIN number matches production information for a Van Nuys car built in February as does the build sheet.
House address is legit and the house was built in 1950, so that's good. Now a very good sign is that the owner of the property is a R Collins and a D Collins.

I'd say that's a pretty darn good sign that POP is legit.
Here's the phone numbers

Phone numbers
(575) 623-1616

Landline
(575) 434-1890

Landline

I would call them and see if they can verify any info for you.

Good luck,

That's a 2nd owner protectoplate. They didn't stamp those with drivetrain into. The 2 under the bowtie means it was the 2nd owner on the plate.

5-50 is the warranty coverage, 217 is the mileage. May be 21,700. Can't recall exactly. 03-0 means the car was originally placed in service March of 1970.
