'68 Z/28, Old Bracket Car, Claimed 18k Miles
Neat old car you could have a lot of fun with for the right price. The auction is driving me nuts with all the linked Photobucket images so I can't view the entire description, but it sounded as though the original motor and trans are MIA.

Here's the description.
Thanks for looking. I'll try to keep this brief this is the real deal 1968 Z-28 last registered in 2005 and has been in storage since. This is my brothers car he bought this car as a roller in 1975. When it was new in 1968 it was raced at New England Dragway as a stock bracket car. The only additions we headers, frame connectors and traction bars. Unfortunately the original 302 was unavailable when my brother purchased the car but it did come with a 4 speed transmission and shifter which goes with the car. The motor was built so long ago, to be honest we just don't know what is in it. We do know it was raced a few times and ran 10:80's it still runs and sounds strong and can be driven as a street car. It's not quite as fast with the automatic and highway gears. It does have the 12 bolt rear end though. I believe everything inside works as it should. Please take the time to look at the photo's and ask all the questions you my have and I'll get you the answers. Again this is an original, rust free ,solid camaro that was repainted in lacquer 40 years ago. All original body panels and floor pans and truck pan. There are flaws in the paint and a couple bubbles starting here and there. The car looks like a million bucks from 10 feet away but it's a 40 year old restoration. So if I'm being honest and not misleading in any way I think a reasonable person would agree that repairs and restoration may or may not be needed. Please message your questions through eBay. Good Luck! Any Local Interested parties are welcome to come inspect the car by appointment only.

Looks like an auto pedal was swapped out with the trans which is odd in itself as most simply buried the pedal under the carpet? Only signs of it maybe being a Z are power brakes, the tach and a glove box decal at this point. Needs paint and body and has some rust issues showing signs of further decay.
If it stays cheap enough it could be a fun project car for someone. NOS is still there and funny he claims it ran 10:80 but doesn't have a cage in it? The rest of the car looks like it was setup as a race car but it looks to be 80's period.

It would be nice to have pictures of the 4-Speed that goes with the auction to see if it’s original to the car.
Definitely not “rust free” as the seller states but it’s perfect the way it is....IMO I have a friend who’s interested if it stays in his budget, but I’m thinking it won’t. Kurt |

Very cool. Congrats.
Have you done any more detective work to verify it is a real Z/28?

That was a great deal for you. Glad to see someone here got the car.
What was the deal on the pedals? Was the clutch pedal under the carpet? Need to see some video now?

I'd love to see a video of it running and driving. You need to put that Muncie back in it ASAP.

I agree. First Gen Z with an auto trans = blasphemy.
