Or instead of personalized, get year-of-manufacture plates? There custom enough that people see there different from the ugly current Ontario plates, but generic enough that IF you sell, they CAN transfer to any other car of that year, like another 70. Usually runs a bit more upfront cost though.
IF you do want YOM plates, I do have a guy I bought my 1961 plates off that sells them with the guarantee they are usable by the ministry. Good luck, John

My friend had ERATIC on his 68 Chevelle

I contacted an antique license plate collector advertising in Hemmings Motor News back in the 1990's and asked him if he had any Missouri,(where my Chevelle was made & sold too) 1970,(year of my car)...and quite possibly showing the month of October,(when my car was assembled). Not only did he have one for me,(Missouri only required 1 plate back then as opposed to Illinois wanting 2 plates),he had one showing 396,as well as X2C. It's a perfect match,as Missouri plates back then displayed the Year the plate expired, not issued. So a Missouri plate showing 1970,was really issued in 1969,which was when my Chevelle was assembled in the state of Missouri and in the month of October too. |
