I can remember late-70’s riding with my father when he suddenly u-turned in pursuit of a raggedy old Rambler station wagon. Turns out it was wearing a dirty set of C1 Corvette hubcaps that were purchased right there in a gas station parking lot. We brought them home and they cleaned up absolutely surprisingly beautiful before finding a home on his Honduras Maroon ‘62 Corvette!

I bought a rusty old 66 fastback Mustang around 2002 or so for $1000. It had 428CJ shaker air cleaner assembly sticking through the hood. Even had the chrome trim ring somewhat attached to the hood.

15 or 20 years ago I was driving in South Seattle and rolled up on a really, really ratty 69 Buick Skylark 4dr sedan. Bad colors, bad condition but sporting a real pair of mid-60s 15x6 American "crow's feet" mags on the front. At the light I asked if he wanted to sell, and he said he wanted to sell the car. I really didn't want the car, just the wheels. He was a motorcycle mechanic at the nearby Harley dealer and asked me to follow him there where we could talk. Made a deal to buy the wheels only, but I had to replace the rims so he could keep driving it. It was a good deal but Murphy's law was that generic stock GM steel wheels were everywhere until I actually needed a pair. I finally found a pair out in a friend's backyard that I cleaned up and made work for the swap.

Was unpacking parts from the 67 Z project I just bought. Lots of parts and cardboard inside the car for the trip home and accidentally came across this as I almost thought it was scrap packing material.

Good question. Have not done the research yet but the instruction sheet is dated 1968 and the stencils are definitely for a Z28.

I see that. Very confusing stamp on that box.
