Brake booster delco logo question
My 69 Z28 brake booster 9204 has some pitting like most. It has a upside down weak delco logo left lower side. I bought a clean booster I think off a firebird it has a right side up logo on the right lower. My question is were they just randomly stamped ? Do all the 69's have a lower left logo? my plan would be to have the rebuilder swap the fronts. thanks gary

The guy at brake boosters told me he has a way to clean up the Delco stamps and maybe he could make it more visible. The one in my 69 was light on one side and I didn’t have anything done with it

Some were very faint. My 1970 booster cover prior to send to BrakeBoosters.com for restoration. Look closely at the lower left corner. After plating, it completely disappeared.

I had Mike do a Brake Booster for me that had a very faint stamping that was almost unreadable. I opted for the engraving service he offered to get that back. It was for a 72 Chevelle SS454 Convertible.
Heres the booster

As for right side up, up side down, I have never seen an original 69 Camaro booster that was not up side down.

I had Mike do a booster and I highly recommend his service. He called me directly to ask if I would want the have the pitting polished out for a additional fee before he did it. Of course I agreed and the booster is a thing of beauty. Its almost to nice to put on the car. Thanks Mike.

In summary - you can trust Mike’s workmanship and integrity.
To the original poster - I would send the original booster along with the extra face to Mike. He will advise you correctly on which face to use. Your restored booster will be returned along with the extra face. |
