Ms. Barbara Eden and her ‘69 Mach 1 428 Mustang
Great picture of the lady and her car. She had it for years, I remember when Jeff Tann bought it around ‘91 and did a restoration series on it then in Fabulous Mustangs or PHR. Speaking as a child of the 70’s, I dreamed of Jeannie AND Cobra Jets so this is just about perfect

In the mid 70’s I worked at a friends Chevron station pumping gas on the corner of Van Nuys and Ventura Blvd.
We had self serve and full service. One day Barbara Eden rolls in the self service bay (Mercedes) hands me her CC and asks if I would fill up her tank while she runs across the street to pick up food she had ordered. Of course I recognized her from I dream of Jeanie and said no problem. She gave me a smile, signed the slip, jumped in her car and drove away. |

This is a year old but I just found it. Ron, the current owner of the Mach1 has had it out to local shows a few times. Old Car Sunday in the Park in Mission BC on Fathers Day is maybe the best chance to see it. Car still looks like that and he has some Barbara memorabilia with it.
Such a beautiful woman owning a 428 CJ gets me all giddy thinking about it. |

Surprised she had a Ford since didn’t Chevrolet apparently sponsored the show? There are a few scenes with old vettes and Camaros if I recall.

Don't remember seeing Chevys on I Dream of Jeannie. Probably too distracted by Jeannie.
Lots of Chevys on Bewitched.

Didn't "I Dream of Jeannie" feature Pontiacs?

That would make sense. Not that, as a 17 yr old, I noticed the cars either. Like Lynn, I'm rather certain my focus was on the source of Pontiac's eventual slogan "She builds excitement".
