I saw this on the newsstand today. Its a PHR/Super Chevy Camaro special and one of the features is a Fathom Green '69 SS396 Camaro with Endura, cowl hood, the 9737 Sports Car suspension option with sway bars and 15x7" STEEL wheels with dog dishes and E 70 -15 Wide Treads. It also has delete everything, including most of the exterior brightwork. They don't really specify the paperwork, but it sounds like they have a build sheet. I've never heard/seen steel wheels used with the 9737 COPO, just Rallys. I have my doubts, but I never say never. Comments?
(interesting off-brand wheel trivia: Here in Seattle there's a '64 1/2 Mustang convertible that was ordered with the rare early-'65-only 15" wheel option, usually seen on early 271HP K-code Mustangs, if seen at all. The kicker is that this one's a 6 cylinder, so they're 15x5" FOUR-LUG Kelsey Hayes wheels) |

Did the article say if it had the 140 mph speedo?

I believe it did, Joe. I'm afraid I didn't buy the issue, since that feature was the only thing that interested me much. I'll try to scan it again after I return from the holidays.

I bought it for the Jim Hayter 69 rs Camaro sponsored by Fred Gibb. Thought that would make a NICE picture on the wall

I haven't looked at a copy of the magazine yet, but we (Chevrolet) "never" built any '69 Camaros with 15x7 steel wheels (non-Rally Wheels)and hub caps.
Additionally, the COPO option 9737 was only available with the COPO 427 Camaro option 9561. The option 9737 was originally set up for use on the Yenko COPO cars only, but we did release it for other dealers to order on their COPO cars, as well. Jim Mattison [email protected] |

I neglected to mention the availability of 9737 w/9560. Sorry!
We (Chevrloet) still "never" built any COPO or non-COPO cars with 15x7 steel wheels and dog dish hub caps in 1969. The COPO option 9737 was very specific in calling out the 15x7 rally wheel. Jim Mattison |

Hey Jim don't forget the 9562 9737 combo used to order the Yenko Chevelles and a few other L72 Chevelles |

Oopps!.......and the 15" rally wheels that came on the full-size '69 Chevys with J50/J52, or with the police car or taxi package and the 15x8 rally wheels that came on all '69 Corvettes.
Have we got all the 15" passenger car wheel possibilities for the 1969 model year covered now? Jim Mattison |
