Default Update pictures of my JL8 under restoration

Here's a link to the lates pictures(most taken today) of my 69 Z28 JL8 car. We decided to go ahead and replace both quarters with NOS GM quarters due to previous damage, not rust. Hopefully it will have a fresh new coat of Hugger Orange paint wihtin the next 2 months. Then the reassembly will pick up speed from there.

Running! All I ever did was pull it off the transport truck and into my garage where I started taking it apart. That passenger side quarter was worse than we thought as you can see by the Dr. Frankenstein stitch marks the way they repaired it. The tailpanel was also several layers covering each other so they pulled them all off to do the quarters and fix it right. It's still a really clean body though. You CA guys have it made!

Looks great! Bare metal on every square inch of that thing? Ugh, the passenger side 1/4 on my old Lemans is brazed on the same way. I hope I can save it!

Yup, RediStrip dipped the body and then baked it to remove everything. Then they hit it with the wire wheels. There's a pair of NOS quarters going on it the right way. From this point on we should pick up some speed with it going back together. It's been over 3 years since I got the car from Charley and I started taking it apart right away. Time and $$$ have been the real factors so far. I wanted to collect the hard to find parts($$$) and that caused delays. Then work on the house caused delays for the car. But it will be worth it when it's done.

Its not uncomon to see qtrs put on like that. Very few body shops took the time to pull the glass and dig out the lead, and do it right. Time is money on flat rate in a body shop, and back when it got hurt it was, just a car. Schonye
