Your loving the original unmolested, repainted (incorrectly look at the distance between the rear window and the top of the stripe and the paint under the spoiler on the trunk lip), RS added (RS Z28's have rallysport emblemson the fender not Camaro emblems plus no wiper solenoid, or washer tank (or mounting holes) on the passenger fenderwell, ZL2 added (September car ZL2s not avaialble till late December, Early January of 69) Z28? It is a nice looking car, but unmolested, unrestored, hardly. [/ QUOTE ] Agreed, I hate seeing someone trying to pass off something it isn't, especially when selling. I only like the look of it and the color. Not being an interested buyer, I wasn't going to pick the car apart, I have enough of the local "experts" that do that on my Camaro.

Paint...and the custom color matched locking mechanism for the rear deck lid! ![]() [/ QUOTE ] Actually all 68-69 Camaros have body color painted strikers on the decklid and the latch portion bolted to the tailpanel support. They were already bolted in place before the car was painted. The same goes for the door latches and strikers, all were painted in 68-69. Now the 67's had the latches and strikers bolted in after the cars were painted but sometime during the year they changed that procedure. I am not completely up to date on the time frame of each plant but late 67's had painted latches in the doors and the trunk. I know the trunk latch and strikers were already being painted body color sometime around late Feb or early March of 67 for the Norwood cars, maybe earlier. Not sure on the doors though, maybe Jon M. can shed some light on this subject.................RatPack.................. |
