I like it where it is, honestly. Always liked that you can see it when standing in front of the car.

A lot hath happened these last two years. From the positive cable getting into the header and stranding us, to the alternator dying and opening a can of worms with me trying to adjust the valves without a clue as to what I was doing (which I've fixed now), to today. So, I got it running again two weeks ago, and have been driving it a bit, and having a blast. Well, I was romping on it a bit....
Remember when the throttle rod came apart on me about 3 years ago? SOB did it again. Haven't decided if I'm switching to a cable or welding the damned thing together again. *sigh*.

I haven't updated this in months.
It ended the year running again! I went to a 69 Camaro style cable setup. The big things I need to do is figure out a way to keep it cool (A freaking fan shroud might be nice!) and then after that, adjust the shift linkage. The ratchet shifter has never worked right, but Pappaw also never really investigated- when he last messed with it, he was still fixing other people's cars and just got it to where he could move it around. So when you try to ratchet it, it doesn't work, and takes multiple attempts. This would be fine if the car didn't upshift at only 4,000 RPM. Just as it's starting to get into the fun zone lol. Still, I enjoyed tooling around at like 3,000 RPM because 4.56 gears and just being a bit of a nuisance (at responsible hours) thanks to the exhaust. Here's a photo album of mostly the same angles in a couple different locations. https://imgur.com/a/j7DoJzt While the Camaro is still my main focus, and needs a lot of work, it is always nice that this one still runs good. I probably need to readjust the carb, since I removed the spacer for more air cleaner room it's been a tad more cold blooded than it used to be. Oh, and as a small aside, the old mufflers weren't Thrush- they were Magnaflows apparently. Listening on YouTube, it sounds about right. Either way, I'm not changing the exhaust any time soon. The car's entire charm to me is that it's utterly ridiculous. It's way too powerful, way too loud, way too big of a gear, not enough handling, etc. The only sano thing I'd like to do eventually is front discs. It's also got 049 heads instead of L78 heads, and a three angle valve job was done.
