Would a 1969 Chevelle (Baltimore) with an 11D build date fit the timeframe for a COPO Chevelle?
The VIN is late enough to correspond with the build date, but I don't really know what the accepted timeframe is. Any input is appreciated. ![]() Blair

The earliest COPO and Yenko Chevelles that I know of are early February. A late March engine wouldn't be original to the car but a lot of these engines broke and were replaced over the years. If it is real, fine. If not it could make one nice clone. If it is a real SS car, it would be worth doing a restoration. The KQ rearend would be another good clue. 4:10 rearends in SS396 cars were coded KK.

It's always a laugh reading ebay feedbacks of people with minus (-) numbers.

Just a quick heads-up on this car...
After several failed attempts on Ebay, the owner is now shopping this car around as a "matching numbers" COPO Chevelle, complete with original KQ rear, and possibly a new trim tag...according to those looking at the car last year, it was a 396 car with a KK rear with a '70 454 in it and an 11D build date. There's a LOT more to this story than I care to get into, but if you're bored, here's some more info: Team Chevelle thread 1 - Team Chevelle Thread 2 |
