Re: BEST OF BALDWIN MOTION
I have been reading this thread from the start and I have to say those two cars, and the history of them, are unbelievable. I am a Dodge guy and don't usually even like Chevelles, but that car is just RIGHT! The Camaro is awesome too.
(I can't believe I just said that about a GM)

Nothing to be ashamed of Eric! Altho a bowtie-centric web site, some of these guys even appreciate other brand names too.

I had Diamondback Classics custom fabricate them on bias ply L60x15s rear and F70x14s front. Bill Chapman at DB Classics only wanted to build them on a radial type tire but I wanted an original look. After some trial and error (some tires sacraficed) they came out great. They are great folks to work with. Bill informed me they will hold up just fine during a burnout and they are truly very close to what came on the car. [/ QUOTE ] It's attention to detail like this that makes this car look "just right" and take it to the next level!...that and the spark plug wires ...

Not Delco SS550s?

Re: BEST OF BALDWIN MOTION
I had to bring this thread back!!! I just love the story and the cars!!
Did the "rest of the story" ever get told??? How about some of those old photos!!! From the original post: "It is just a fraction of the amazing history of these two cars as well as his life. In fact, were not much of it documented with original photos, it is almost unbelievable. Roberto sent me home with personal family photo albums." Where was the Chevelle found? When did the original owner sell it? Perhaps a new thread could be set up with the whole story and just the pics of the cars.

Re: BEST OF BALDWIN MOTION
The original owner never sold either car. Each was given to one of Roberto's friends after he lost interest in the cars. The cars, contrary to popular belief, never were delivered to Mexico. He kept them in a parking garage across the street from the Gateway hotel in El Paso. When he would come up to visit El Paso from Chihuahua City or the ranch in central Chihuahua provence is when he would drive them. Most of the important pictures have been given to Marty Schorr to be published in the new book about the history of Motion performance. Marty is hoping the book will be out the 3rd quarter of this year. He has been putting alot of effort in the book and has secured a publisher.
