Always the wise-guy, JoeyB
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Here's an email from George Kurien that I opened this morning:
Sure Steve,
I will gladly take care of solving the problems on hand.
I suggest a double pronged approach.
1. We will follow your suggestion of sending you proper Certificates
with the wordings as indicated by you, as well as the story
behind the re-creation of these jackets.
2. I suggest, that we will gladly get several more Designer labels. I
can easily send these labels to you - and our collectors can easily
get a local - seamster, seamstress or shoe repair person to sew
it in place. Or - on the other hand, if they will (after the winter season,
when, they will only hang it up in their closet) send the jacket to
me, I will gladly affix this new correct label and return it back to
them - AT NO COST.
If however, you have any other suggestion, please feel free to let me
know - and I will more than gladly co-operate to stand behind every
creation built by us.
Best,
George Kurien
Geeezzz Guys,
I was only kidding about the documentation, I didnt think you guys would take the ball and run with it! Hell, I guess if you get a Letter Of Authenticity from the Franklin Mint for a $30 diecast, a letter for a $700 jacket is not unreasonable......but then again......maybe it should be a Certification of Lunacy instead. Steve,
I like his approach. I would like to have the certificate explaining the mistake and the story of the re-creation of the jacket and also the new correct designer label sent to me.
That way I can put both of these items with the jacket and IF I CHOOSE TO CHANGE IT, it will be my decision.
And because of the rarity of the jacket and the rarity of the mistake, with this documentation and the correct label, if I choose to sell it some day, possibly the value of it will be greater than a jacket that was produced correctly.
Thank you for your concern over this problem Steve. Once again Steve, YOU THE MAN.
In addition to the error on the inside label, i also found another problem with the jackets... I went to put mine on, and found it to be very tight fitting around the neck, and the sleeves dont seem to be cut right at all. In addition, the zipper seems very difficult to operate....
oh wait a minute...false alarm, I had it on backwards... it fits fine now.
