[ QUOTE ]
70 RA IV Judge the actual Two Lane Black Top Car pic taken in spring 1989 ![]() [/ QUOTE ] Hi Bruce, not trying to upset any apple carts, but I am curious about your car. I am a big GTO fan and a Two lane Blacktop fan. (I love orbit orange judges and your car looks sweet!) However, I was always under the impression that the GTO, at least for the exterior shots, was a non judge 455. In the movie, he describes during one of his multiple BS backstory rants to a guy, as a 455 Mark IV ram air. He then gives stats that are incorrect for any factory 70 GTO. He quotes 390hp and 500 lb-ft. In every shot of that car in the movie and on various packaging, the Judge emblems are nowhere to be found. Only a GTO logo resides behind the front wheel where the judge should be. I was told there were 2 cars and they were both 455s. After seeing your post I checked around the net a bit (not that it's the end all be all) and found the car listed in the Internet car movie database. The info there supported what I had always heard and thought from multiple viewings. From the site; ":NOT a Judge, but a standard GTO 455, painted Orbit Orange, with the "Rally II" stripes and spoiler optioned in (these items were standard on the Judge, optional on regular GTOs). Note that there are no "The Judge" emblems behind the front wheels. This car was owned by Universal Studios for a long time, and used in many movies and TV shows ("Baretta" immediately springs to mind...some thugs to run over Robert Blake with it in the first episode and crash through a fence...this scene is shown in the opening credits for the rest of the series' run). Apparently they finally sold the car in 1988 to an individual and that's the last anyone has heard of it." (is this you? ![]() So where did you aquire it, and what kind of supporting docs did you get that told you this was that car? Is your car a 455? I see that it now sports the judge emblem on the fenders? I would love to know all the stories behind this car. One of the best looking cars ever, in my opinion. Thanks !! John ![]() |

I loved the contrast of the CLEAN black Vette on a sunny winter snow covered day. It was like 5 degrees out when I took this shot.
