It was one of his advanced insane math courses that I can’t even begin to understand even when he explains it to me.

Believe me, I get it. Mrs. Anthony teaches a math class called MATH187 (OR) and rolls her eyes every time I say that class must be murder, which is every time it comes up mind you.

My son and I went to the local cruise night on Saturday. He brought his Camaro and I brought the Heckitty. I saw several people walk by the car and then tilt their heads and come back and look again. It was the stripes! It seems that at various light angles, those burgundy stripes completely disappear and then if you hit the right angle, they pop back out at you. It's like one of those 3D stickers from the 1970's. I had a lot of positive responses. Just one negative vote from some old crabby guy. (older than me). It was funny - his wife told him to shut up and keep walking. Apparently she liked them. LOL

Or as Dodge calles them "AIR DEFLCETORS". Ugh.
These come in a package in the trunk. Most likely left off due to the fact that they would interfere with chassis tiedowns during shipment. Pretty straightforward once you get the car on stands and take the front wheels off. The only deviation from the instructions I suggest is that you install them about an inch and a half from the bump on the arm and not 3/4 of an inch. If you try to do the 3/4 of an inch route, you will break the "DEFLCETOR" when you tighten it down because the arm curves slightly due to a thickening of the metal in that area. Goes rather smoothly as long as you have that special Snap-On 10mm deflcetor wrench available. Last edited by njsteve; 06-20-2022 at 03:06 AM. |

And I got some photos of the factory installed oil filter because there is an ongoing debate over what filter these come iwth. Some people think they should have the SRT whote cannister filter but as you can see, it's the regular old "899" filter on a 2022 Redeye engine.
Interesting factory stenciling says "FACTORY INSTALLED" on the 04884899AC filter. Also interesting to see that it's a 2015 filter from the copyright printing. |

Looks like someone/you tightened the jam nut on the tie rod end a little more.
What is the purpose of the dealer installed deflc-e-tor ?

They are for extra brake rotor cooling.

Just got my new set of Michellin Pilot Sport 4S tires 275/40ZR20 from DiscountTireDirect. They had a $110 off flash sale which dropped the $393 price by $27.50 per wheel. Getting them installed this week. These things do seem a lot stickier already - they got dropped off by the Fedex truck and sat in my driveway for an hour. They were sticky from the heat already and picked up every piece of dirt and dust when I rolled them into the garage! I am looking forward to swapping out the Michellins for the fossilized hockeypuck Pirellis ASAP.
I also swapped out the factory brake pads (which make a ton of brake dust) with Powerstop Z36 pads front and rear. It is amazing how far brakes have come in the past 30 years. The small four piston Brembo rear calipers on this car are the same Brembo calipers on the front of my 1993 Viper! Last edited by njsteve; 06-27-2022 at 12:30 AM. |

You will really like the Powerstop pads and the Michelins. I made the same swap in my wife's 2015 SS Sports Sedan. The brake dust is non-existent and we didn't notice any reduction in stopping power. The Michelins ride and handle much better than the stock Bridgestones.
