This Bright Red 65 Coronet WO51 Hemi Super Stock is 1 of 101 built. The NHRA outlawed aluminum body panels for '65 so Chrysler countered that with lighter gauge steel for the front clips along with aluminum heads and magnesium intakes. I don't know any history on this car. J. Troxel had this car at the show.

This 67 Coronet 440 WO23 is 1 of 55 built and 1 of only 16 4 speeds. They were all White with black bench seat interiors. I'm not sure which car this is either, but it is said to have only 900 miles on it. S. Atwell had this car at the show.

This Bright Red 69 Super Bee A12 is 1 of 1,907 built. This car has a bench seat with a column shifted TorqueFlite. This car was in the Pure Stock Muscle Car Drags Display and runs in the 12.30's. I believe this car used to be owned and raced by Paul Petcou. D. Kruger had this car at the show.

This R4 Red 69 Hemi Charger 500 was the first Hemi Charger 500 built in '69 and is known as car 610. The first six Hemi Charger 500's built were Press Release cars. They were all Red with three having 4 speeds and three having TorqueFlites. Their VON #'s were 925000 - 925005. This is an unrestored car that still has its original drivetrain. It was featured in the May '17 issue of Muscle Car Review and the August '21 issue of Mopar Collector's Guide. According to the story in MCG some press guys had this car checked out from Dodge and took it street racing one night. They ended up damaging one of the rear quarter panels and took it to a local Dodge dealer in the middle of the night for repairs. They returned it the next day without the repairs being noticed. This car was eventually sold through Turnpike Motor Sales in East Greenbush NY to M. Russo. R. Myers had this car at the show.

This R4 Red 69 Hemi Charger 500 is also a Press Release car and is the second one built. It is known as car 614 and is the only TorqueFlite car of the three built that is known. When this car was being restored the then owner found the build sheet for car 610 in his rear seat. Upon contacting the owner of car 610 he found out he had the build sheet for car 614 so a trade was made. Apparently the rear seats were switched when they were reinstalled at Creative Industries. This car was restored by Joe Moosbichler. S. Lempara had this car at the show.

This R4 Red 69 Hemi Charger 500 is a 4 speed car and is known as the Cotton Owens car. I believe this is one of the Press Release cars as well, but I didn't get a chance to see the fender tag. This car was out in California and had its engine and transmission stolen. Dodge asked Cotton Owens to retrieve it and store it at his shop in South Carolina until they figured out what they were going to do with it. They eventually asked him to bring it up to Detroit and they used it in wind tunnel testing in the development of the Daytonas. Dodge then offered the car to Cotton Owens less a front clip. He purchased it and they latter shipped him a new painted front clip with some other body panels to repair his stock cars. This car was restored a number of years ago by Lee Hodge and he had it at the show this year.
