This Garnet Red 69 Chevelle, 136379B393617, has an L72 with a TH400. I first saw this car at Osceola Dragway in the late 90's. It had Michigan personalized plates 427COPO at the time and still has them. Back then I assumed it was a clone, but I never talked to the owner. The auction writeup says it is powered by a 427/425 engine and then devotes a whole paragraph talking about the COPO program for Chevelles in '69. It never comes out and claims one way or the other what this car is. They also have the auction estimate as $125K to $150K which is COPO money. On the trim tag there is a B and an L in the bottom row. I don't know what these letters stand for, but every Baltimore built COPO Chevelle I have ever seen has a B and an M in the bottom row. Most SS's and some non SS's have the B and the L. Anyway, this car hammered for $53K.

This Classic White 70 Chevelle SS convertible, 136670B155423, was sold new at Arnaud Auto. Ltd. in Sept-Isles QB. According to the GM of Canada documents this is an LS6 with an M22 and 4.10 gears. It was advertised as having a correct drivetrain. From the pictures provided the VIN's on the engine and transmission appear to be restamps. I talked to the owner right before this car crossed the block. This car was freshly restored and he never even drove it. The only documentation is the GM of Canada paperwork. He said there was no build sheet or any other documentation. For a car like this I would have had one of the experts certify it before it was restored, but it hammered for $600K so I guess that wasn't necessary. I believe this car sold to a phone bidder.

Here's a picture of the car. Somehow I lost this when I tried to add the build sheet in the first post.
