I would love to see the 6 cylinder front coils and the old Lakewood slapper bars with the shackle kit and Cragars. Tach, oil and temp gauge with a fuel gauge mounted on the cowl outside. Hurst flower decals, the lace or swirl paint and the T-3's painted an amber or blue color. Don't need a roll bar, fuel cell or trunk mounted battery for this deal. 10" M+H slicks. YEAAAA!

Now you're talkin!!!!! Not everyone has the advantage that you do to have these early, back-in-day photos documenting exactly how your Camaro was run. Charley's comment is worth heeding if you are planning a quick sale (he knows this market).

Your car's look is spot on as the way these cars looked back then!

Don't really have to paint the name back on the side just the graphics and mod type paint job would look great I think! remember the Vitar car and Herbie's Hugger were tubbed with a narrowed rear.

VERY VERY COOL!!! Actually, I think I remember the car as a bracket racer in it's Burgundy and "ELECTRIC" '80s stripe.
On a second note, I also own a car that raced as a brand new car. My car was raced and sponsored by a new Oldsmobile dealership and then sold off of their used car lot in February 1971. While my car was not a life-long dedicated racecar like yours, it did lead a very sheltered life with only about 10k street miles. I have it re-lettered and set up as the "1969-1970" style F/S---basically the car is original and un-restored. It was just the cover and feature car of the Feb.2012 Muscle Car Review. What I'm getting at here is this:
If your intentions are to sell the car as a profit-maker, then in my opinion, a showroom-stock restoration might make more sense. However, if you are like me (and a lot of other old racers) and the car is more of a passion, and the money REALLY doesn't matter, then I would applaud you for making that car appear (and maybe even run) as it did in 1969 and 1970. True, racecars have a smaller market, but the players in that arena are a little different breed.

I went back and looked at some of those old pics. How about the guy pouring water at Capitol? Defintely a No-No today. And old-time Cecil County. Looks like that front end was set up a "little loose"--wonder if they had the front wheels staggered? That was a trick from that era---probably a Jack Arnew front suspension.
GREAT FIND!!!!!!!!!!!! Bring it to York in July---I can assure you someone there will know that car. Have you had Jerry MacNeish look at it, or have you called him yet? And maybe you said already, but where was that car sold? Ourisman Chevrolet?

Brent,

This is an awesome COPO find! Congratulations on finding a car like this and doing some great detective work to get all the history.
