It's a spec number for the grade of bolt. I don't remember if it's a ASTM number or a SAE number, but it's something like that. It's usually used on stainless steel bolts. I can't really see the number on these, but it looks like they may be 304 stainless.

Not familiar with the cross border protocol on Chevelles of this era. Could Canadian built Chevelles be sold new in the U.S.? Does this car have GM Canada documentation? Neat car with a great back story.

No problem, also a friend has another red 1969 Chevelle 300 Deluxe SS396 built in Oshawa sold at another MI dealer (I can’t remember)

Great looking '69 and it has some cool history. I bought a '69 Malibu parts car years ago and was amazed at all the parts that were stamped "Made in Canada". I had never seen that before.

Maybe someone else can chime in on this. I'm a Canuck and I've been around these cars all my life. I've never seen "Made in Canada" Valve covers hold downs. I would assume they are aftermarket. I maybe corrected by someone on here but that's my opinion and until someone can prove me wrong, their aftermarket.

I bought some valve cover hold downs for a bbc thru GM parts in the 80s and they were stamped "made in Canada."
