Default Re: china cargo ship

I'm a member of the ILWU longshoremans union. It is our union that unloads/loads ALL the ships on the West Coast coming from China. The MARSK ship shown is an extreme example and not at all representative of what I see everyday.

We do ship MANY empty containers back to Asia, no doubt.
We also send MANY containers full of American products, grain (corn, soybeans, wheat) and scrap steel (shredded cars etc).........

You need a big boat in order to cary all those leaded, and tainted food products to North America.

Since a lot of Chinese-made products contain high levels of lead, please see below:

The whole world is scared of China made 'black hearted goods'. Can you differentiate which one is made in the USA , Philippines , Taiwan or China ? Let me tell you how... the first 3 digits of the barcode is the country code wherein the product was made.

Example: all barcodes that start with 690.691.692 through 695 mean the products are MADE IN CHINA. 471 is Made in Taiwan

This is our human right to know, but the government and related department never educate the public, therefore we have to RESCUE ourselves.

Nowadays, Chinese businessmen know that consumers do not like products 'made in China ', so they don't show in which country it is made.

However, you may now refer to the barcode: remember if the first 3 digits are 690-695 then it is Made in China .

00 ~ 13 USA & CANADA
30 ~ 37 FRANCE
40 ~ 44 GERMANY
49 ~ JAPAN
50 ~ UK
57 ~ Denmark
64 ~ Finland
76 ~ Switzerland and Liechtenstein
628 ~ Saudi-Arabia
629 ~ United Arab Emirates
740 ~ 745 - Central America

All 480 codes are Made in the Philippines

Please inform your family and friends for them to be aware

Great info, but I just went thru my kitchen and pulled some items and none of them mapped to your list here. Perhaps my made in China glasses are screwed up?

Example: Aunt Jemima's Pancake Mix. Claims Made in the USA. first three digits of barcode are (300)00 05070. Am I reading this wrong?

Our local dairy (Oberweis) half gallon of milk, definately made in the USA is 16029 01090.

They don't have to go back empty, I'm sure there is enough technology to develope those containers into prison cells. We can out source our Prison population and ship them to China to learn a few trades. ---I sure bet it would get us a reduction in repeat offenders.

That's a great idea! I'm serious. Two strikes and go to China.
