"Hennessey Performance Engineering (HPE), well known for their extreme performance sports cars and muscle cars, announces their Limited Edition 2010 HPE700 Camaro.

At the heart of the beast is GM's new LS9 supercharged V8 tweaked as only HPE could to 705 horsepower and 717 lb-ft torque. To qualify as a 'supercar' car under the HPE banner it can't just go, it has to whoa."

I saw this on the net a few minutes ago and thought that it would be an interesting post. A 5th gen supercar.

OK, enuff.

Clary, did you guys here coin the word "supercar" thru your site here???

If so, as I see it, where did this term find it's origins of use and now it appears in most context descriptions around.

Maybe you guys should 'TM' that word!

I'm not in love with the 2010 Camaro styling, but it's starting to grow on me. It will be nice to see new Camaros on the road again. I could see myself picking up a used 300 hp. V6 Camaro cheap for a daily driver in about 5 years.

Yes the word Supercar is waaaaayy over-used.

I'm still not a big fan of the Gen5 Camaro but if you're gonna do one, do it right.

To each, his own.

While not the first to use the word "supercar", since the formation of the sYc/Supercar Registry, I think most will agree that our definition of what is a supercar has pretty much become the standard, and most certaintly we have made it a "buzz" word.

The stinger hood on the yellow Nickey model above looks like the perfect addition to the new Camaro.
Does anyone know what this post below is all about. Doesn't sound good. It is a posting from a few years ago. I don't know much about this company.

I like it. Not as nice as the real first gens, but pretty cool.

Sounds like there are a lot of people who similarly wanted a duplicate of the old GTO in the new one, but didn't get it.

The guy has no credibility. Even if I wanted one of those hideous things I wouldn't send him a penny in advance.

How do these creeps manage to stay in business so long?

How do I make a picture smaller. I've got a great one for this thread.
