Ed, I'll bet Mike Crown could tell you if its alright. 66L34 above posted a link to his site. You can contact him from there.

Looks like an early Atlanta stamp pad ...
Tonawanda stamp was gang style...
The VIN was stamped individually...I have seen later pads (May 66) with the "A" for Atlanta squeezed into the pad appearing as if the "A" was stamped in after the VIN had already stamped...I have a few atlanta pad photos that are similar to the pad that is posted. Looking at my sequence of atlanta pads, it is apparent that the font size changed at certain times in the production year...
One more thing, the "H" in the pad is correct

Orlando, I believe the deck pad in question is from a Baltimore car...
Ed, please correct me if I am wrong.

Jacquie:

I just wrote Mike Crown to see what he thought about the pad. It is a Baltimore Chevelle. I have seen many stamp pads such as 63 409 pad stamps that look like someone did it in their garage. I'm inclined to think the VIN stamp is original on this one. I'll let you know when I hear from the wizard. Ed

Thanks for everybody's input. I'll just stick to what I know from now on. The pad is not original. Ed

That's too bad, Ed.
Just another example of why doing your homework and running this stuff by those in the know is so important!

Hey Ed, did the seller say that was the original stamping? Is he selling the car as numbers matching? Where is it advertised, if anywhere? Thanks.
