Default Re: Chevelle, Camaro, Impala, & Nova Websites Sold

I can't speak for the aforementioned sites but there is a move afoot to make money off of web content such as free sites. Since the Internet came into the national conciousness over a decade ago, business has been trying to figure out how to charge money for its use. Pop-up advertizing and banner ads (etc.) have done the job so far (see Google's financial results for proof) but, as the saying goes, it's never enough. I anticipate sites such as the ones above that have been bought by conglomerates and corporations to soon become places that charge a fee for their use and/or membership and that fee will not go into a 'kitty' for putting on car shows but will go straight into the corporate coffers.

"Good" and "free" do not go together for very long so look forward to the free aspects of the Internet to be whittled away as soon as business can figure out how to get us to pay for it without losing our interest.
