It's kind of amazing that the Mustang weighs close to 4,000 pounds and it's the lightweight member of the group. I don't think the typical 409 Impala weighs that much.

It's a far cry from my '88 LX notch. Sans engine and trans, I think two decent sized guys could pick that thing up and run down the street with it.

there were a couple fast jeeps there that day too. but i think they were far from stock. i know one had most of the interior sitting in the pits to lighten it up..lol

Not even close to stock. There's a couple over on the SRT8GC forum running mid-11's N/A, but they're 440-inch+ strokers, gutted interiors, and modded to the b@lls.

Edit: In fact, I believe one of them is the same truck that appears in one of your videos. Yeah, not even remotely stock.

The new 5.0 is not even close to 4000 lbs. They are 3600 w/o a driver.

Norm, NO SRT8 Jeep runs anywhere close to 11's stock. They are 13 second cars on a good day

Well, yeah, dry weight on a base stick car. Evolution's car is loaded. 3800 and some change in the beams with a driver in the seat. That's pretty close to two tons.

Our '10 Camaro was 3840 without anyone in the seat...dead nuts on 4000lbs with dad in it.<div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Originally Posted By: old5.0</div><div class="ubbcode-body">Update on this.

With a drop in filter, tune, Borla axleback, rear suspension, Bogarts and slicks:

Those Bogarts are a serious drag wheel setup...what size wheels/tires/brakes do the Mustangs come with? On the '10 Camaros you have to do a complete brake &quot;downgrade&quot; to get them to fit...without a brake change, I believe an 18&quot; wheel is as small as you can go? A guy could really pick up some et/mph from simply getting away from the huge 20&quot; wheels/tires...
