Lud Renner's L88-powered Corvette Bronze Survivor Original Owner 4K miles '68 Phase III BM RS/SS Camaro was my favorite car of the show! Thanks for showing us the shots of this Beast Dan - great to see you and your bro.

The underside of this car is unbelievably clean and original with an awesome patina. I spent some time talking to Lud about his '68 and it was like he was telling the story for the very first time. What genuine enthusiasm. What a cool, cool, gent he was. He had to have Mom co-sign on the car and she was very concerned about safety features on the car, so Joel took Lud's cue and expounded on the metallic brake linings, safety glass, redundant brake lines, etc. in order to satisfy Mom's concerns. Lud's first trip to the track with his car was his 1st trip to the track with a car EVER! He drove the car on the road for awhile but soon came to the conclusion that the car was too quick and dangerous for this type of setting. So off to the track he went. He kept remembering the guarantee made by Motion for ll.5 quarters at 120mph. He remembers staging next to the other guy and "waiting for the green light". By the time the green light registered in his brain, the other guy had already launched. Next thing Lud did was dump the clutch and row the gears. When all was said and done, Lud had ripped off an 11.6 on his first drag race he had ever run!

Thanks Lud for sharing your stories!

I had a great chat with Joel and got him to sign my Motion book since I missed him last year though after having Marty sign it. Joel was in awe of the cars that were at this years show and I made it a point to thank him and shake his hand for creating a legend that still lives on strong after 40 years. He had no idea that these cars would gain the status that they have today nor did he even think about it. It was all about running a business and building a car that would perform as advertised. He did that and more. Very nice to see him again. Joel and Marty, two of the best! Some unbelievable Motion cars there this weekend!!!

A Joel “Mr. Motion” Rosen and Don Yenko story.

I have known Joel for 10+ years and because he knows I am into Yenkos, he likes to call my cars “circus wagons”, then tells me I need a Motion Car. I respond by saying “find me a Motion car I can afford and I would be glad to own one”.

At the SCR reunion he attended he was asked what he thought of Don Yenko and his cars, Joel smiled and said, “next question”.

Well, at MCACN, I run into Joel and Rayburn Pennington. Joel starts to laugh as he tells me that he has just introduced himself a couple of times as Don Yenko.

BTW, as he was leaving, he stopped to tell me that there were 7 Motion racecars out there, just waiting to be found. Most Camaros, one in Hawaii.
