I agree, even I say "motor" when it comes to racing. Pisses me off when I do it,though

Motor is not exclusive to electricity. I had to build a mousetrap powered car in school. Is the mousetrap a motor or an enigne?
engine: (n) motor that converts thermal energy to mechanical work. motor: (n) machine that converts other forms of energy into mechanical energy and so imparts motion. <div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Originally Posted By: dale68z</div><div class="ubbcode-body">I agree, even I say "motor" when it comes to racing. The answer is simple.....NO, NO and NO!
The only item you have is a GM interior skeleton of a Camaro. I do not care what type of car (options, etc.) this came out of, in fact it has no bearing. It was removed for one reason.....and let me tell you why. Because the originating Camaro is gone. It does not matter why.....all what counts is that it is gone! This is a touchy subject BUT very dear to my heart, because it represents who I am and what I believe in. As far as I am concerned, this is a black and white question. |

I'm sure there are thousands of "real" high-dollar cars that this is all that's really left of the original car.

In my opinion I feel that a skeleton such as this is the most basic and stripped down portion of the original car. But as such, being the original skeleton I feel that there is some reason to believe this is still the original car. I would feel this is more of the original car even if all the required body panels were replaced rather than taking a new body and transferring the tags and drivetrain to it.
A skeleton is the foundation for anything living or in most cases something that has been assembled. Once the skeleton is no longer there - the original item is lost. |

Point, and the skeleton theory is the reason I used mine rather than switching tags or a dynacorn shell.
If the steel parts are the skeleton, I would call the original driveline the soul of the "supercar". After all, the bodies from a 6 banger and a ZL1 are exactly the same. It was the driveline and suspension that made a ZL1 special as opposed to other camaros. I know it's not a popular theory...... In the end it does not matter as long as the buyer and seller are honest and both pleased with the deal. RichPern
