M H tires on front of 70 baldwin motion chevelle

I imagine many have seen the recently restored green 70 chevelle (in recent muscle car magazines, and at mcacn show last fall), and it has M H drag master tires in front to match the back. It has the L88 hood on it, etc.

Did joel put that tire choice on some of his cars for front tires? I like the way it looks, just wondered if it could corner at all and was it something motion actually did.
